Why Should I take In Home photos?
There are so many fun and beautiful locations you could take your pictures at, why should you choose to do it in your home? Because when you look back at your portraits years later, I don;t want you to look at them and remember the day you went to the park for your photos… I want you to look at them and remember the laughter that filled your home, I want them to transport you back not to the special days, but to the everyday.
Additionally, your home is the place where everyone is the most comfortable! Your kids will feel free to run and play and not feel uncomfortable in a new place with a camera pointed in their face. Plus, you won’t have to worry about packing them all up and driving 20+ minutes away! And wen the shoot is over, it’s over! No travel home with worn out kiddos.
My home isn’t beautiful, will I still like my pictures?
Yes! I am not capturing the way your kitchen looks or showing off your interior design. The focus is your family. I capture faces and connection, you won;t even notice what is in the background!
Which room will you shoot in?
Where we shoot depends on where the light is! I look for rooms where the light in pouring in through the window. We’ll set up camp wherever that is! And if that means moving some things around so your favorite chair can be in the photos… thats ok!
Do I have to clean my whole house in order for the pictures to work?
Not at all! We will only be in the rooms with the best light, and we’ll plan all of that beforehand! So if you feel the need to clean, you only need to clean the rooms with the light!
When is the best time to take pictures in my home?
I like to shoot around 9-10 am because that’s when the light is the best and kids are the happiest!
What If I’m not ready when you arrive?
That’s ok! I will arrive after my hair and makeup team is working on getting you ready, so if your kiddos aren’t dressed yet there is no problem! I’ll take a second and look around the space and adjust my camera settings anyway.
